Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The bus fare increases recently approved by the Western Area Traffic Commissioners will be brought into operation by Devon General on Sunday. Some fares on town services will remain unchanged, but others will carry increases of between id and 4d.

Meanwhile, bus season tickets for adults at concessionary rates are being made available. "This will enable regular travellers virtually to offset the fares increase and will assist in the operation of one-man buses",

said a spokesman. The tickets, monthly and three-monthly seasons, will be available for all journeys where the minimum single fare is is 5d or above.

At the same time, the Devon General is removing the time restriction on five-day and six-day weekly tickets under which passengers have to complete the inward journey by 9 a.m. and undertake the return journey not earlier than midday.
