• Timetable and fares revisions were granted to A. and C. McLennan Ltd., of Spittalfield, and A. C. McLennan (Blairgowrie) Ltd. by the Scottish Traffic Commissioners in Dundee last week.
Mr. A. B. Birnie, the chairman of the Commissioners, said the grant was made with the condition that on routes common to other operators the fares should be the same.
W. Alexander and Sons (Midland) Ltd. and W. Alexander and Sons (Northern) Ltd. objected on the grounds that on some common routes McLennan's fares would be lower.
Mr. L. A. Wells, the former deputy chairman of the Scottish Commissioners, representing McLennan, said that when the application was submitted they were co-ordinating their fares with Alexander. The fares' increase granted to Alexander last month had not been foreseen and he asked for the application to be granted on the understanding that the fares would be reviewed later.
