• When Mr. J. R. Edwards, president of the Motor Industry Research Association, proposed the toast to the guests at the Association's annual luncheon in London on Wednesday he divulged that his successor in office would be Lord Rootes.
Members and guests were told of the developments which were planned for MIRA but Mr. Edwards stressed that much would depend on finance being available. The entire development aspect, he said, had been the subject of a detailed inquiry and a report would shortly be available on its results.
