• Small hauliers co-operative Unit 91 has slammed rumours that it is in financial trouble, saying it has merely restructured its organisation.
However, at a meeting last weekend members of the 43company group were told they must play a bigger role in the running of its business.
The association was launched last year to fight for the interests of small operators. It has moved offices in Loughborough and is now employing a full-time transport manager. Founder Mike Pickering says: "We have had teething problems which have been overcome."
