Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Reading your story in Commercial Motor 14-20 May I felt like cheering. The Irish hauliers who got fed up with the company that owed them money and used their wagons to blockade the place did the right thing.

It's about time the Brits followed their example and used the same tactics. As for your comment that we're no good at complaining, I'm currently owed over £2,000 by a freight forwarder who went bust and then set up again in business within days of telling us he'd gone under and I've done plenty of complaining — but it's got me nowhere.

Maybe I should get in touch with other creditors and see how he'd react if we blockaded his new office until he coughed up.

It seems to me the only way British hauliers will ever get the right respect is to earn it and we won't get it by not fighting for what's legally ours. We've got to get tough like the reefer operators did with UMP.

And to think of all the times I've laughed at an Irish joke. Maybe the joke is on us after all.
