Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

eader Harry Nickson from Wallesey, Merseyside has recently returned from a visit to India and supplied these fascinating snaps of two highly-decorated trucks, manufactured by Bombay manufacturer Tata.

According to Harry, Tata vehicles are the "backbone" of the international traffic between Nepal and India and he is surprised that the Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company remains unknown in the West.

Tata, he says, makes trucks that are "tough, tough, tough", used as they are on "dreadful road surfaces" across mountain passes and "always overloaded by at least 25%".

"The wagons always help the extreme optimism of their drivers," says Harry. "Their engines are abused, their bodies knocked all ways by the omnipresent rocks — but always they survive."

So, now you know. The Hawk would be interested to hear if any operator or enthusiast over here has one of these remarkable workhorses.
