Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Parcelforce has hit back at claims by Slough-based express carrier Business Post that its newly launched three-day service, Premier 72, will challenge Parcelforce's "monopoly" in the non-time sensitive market (CM 14-20 May).

"We have an infrastructure and scale no one can match, with 9,000 vehicles based at 200 locations, able to access 23 million addresses daily," says Michael Healy, Parcelforce commercial director, who questions whether Business Post can provide a comparable service with 800 vehicles at 75 locations.

Healy also doubts Business Post's claim to be cheaper than Parcelforce. "If it was possible to compete across our market, someone would already have done it," he says.
