TRAFFIC FIGURES of the French 91.57m tonnes, compared with 1981 and 1980.
General cargo (including containers) represented 9.9m tonnes, bulk cargo, both dry and liquid, amounted to 13.8m tonnes and crude oil products came to 67.8m tonnes.
There was a slight increase in bulk cargoes, while general cargo and oil throughput declined.
A total of 36 per cent of the general cargo was shipped in roro vessels and at present there are 68 ro-ro tines sailing from the ports of Marseilles and Fos (its neighbouring port).
Equipment that the port offers includes a fleet of tracked electric cranes, numbering about 70; 10 medium-power cranes; four large mobile cranes with a lifting capacity of 30 tonnes at 30 metres; a second Caillard gantry crane for one of the container terminals; and Port of Marseilles for 1982 came to 97m tonnes and 103m tonnes for specialised equipment.
Other facilities include a public weighbridge and a refrigerated container area.
