Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Pressure gauge selection has always been a problem for engineers, designers and buyers. There are hundreds of different types on the market and thousands of designs to choose from. Smiths Industries, for example, has over 20,000 different specifications in its Venture range of pressure gauges. Selection of the right gauge can be a complicated and a time-consuming task.

To help solve this problem Smiths Industries has published: "Pressure Gauge Selection", an eight-page, A4-sized brochure which includes selection charts to enable the reader to choose the right kind of gauge-sensing element, the right kind of mounting, case and window materials, connections, size and style for his job. A pressure-units cross-reference chart is also included. The centre pages contain a chart showing "off the shelf" and "made to order" Venture gauges. A fold-out check list and set of pre-paid post-cards make selection and ordering quick and straight-forward.
