Robertson (Carlisle) td and Solway Bakery Ltd, exchanged -ophies at the Carlisle round of the LDoY on iunday after the results had shown the osition placings were entirely reversed on 3st year. The former company, whose driver i. Mattinson was Class A winner in 1970, lained the team award while R. Tuck, a driver or last year's team award winner, the latter irm, was recorded first in Class A.
J. Brown, second, and T. Rumney, third in lass A, with penalties of 226 and 242 espectively, were also Solway Bakery drivers.
V. C. Robertson also had a class to itself vhen A. Harper, R. Whittle and W. Crozier vere placed first, second and third espectively in Class B. Their total point losses
)f 413 also gained them the team award.
Although R. Tuck came through the contest vith the lowest number of points penalized at 184, the driver of the day award went to W. raylor, NCL, when, on the test 3 run-off Mr raylor lost only 16 points. He came through )oth the road route and first manoeuvring est without incurring any loss of penalties but ost 120 points on the Highway Code section ind 28 and 42 points on the second and third nanoeuvring tests.
The entry numbered 65 drivers and 12 earns.
