Courtaulds' Drivers: Mr. J. Delicate, general transport manager of Courtaulds, accused the Government of making road transport the " whipping block " for extra taxation and restrictions when he spoke at a presentation ot driving awards last week.

lever Bros. Awards: Presenting safe-driving awards to company drivers, Mr. J. C. Walker, executive commercial director of Lever Brothers and Associates Ltd., said he looked forward to the day when more Port Sunlight factory products were delivered direct to trade euszomers. During 1964 the transport department began night deliveries to SPD depots in Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle-under-Lyme. There were 26 recipients of awards, and the company's 39 regular drivers had covered 340.000 miles with more than 300,000 tons in the previous 12 months.

Safe Express Drivers: • In the 1964 RoSPA safe driving competition, 2.182 driver's employed by the Express Dairy Co. Ltd. and its subsidiaries gained awards. A to:al of 644 of these received medals and bars for •five or more consecuive ynrs of accident-free driving.
