AJOINT committee to arrange a Conference on Modern Applications of Liquid Fuels has been formed by the Institute of Petroleum and the Institute of Fuel. The chairman is Mr. J. A. Oriel, C.B.E., M.C., vicepresident of the first Institute and chief chemist of Shell. He will be president of the Conference, which will take place at Birmingham University from June 21-23. Separate sessions will deal with the application of such fuels to oil engines, gas turbines, etc.
For details of membership, which will not be confined to members of the. two Institutes, application should be made to the general secretary, Mr. R. W. Reynolds-Davies, 18, Devonshire Street, London, W.I.
