Mike Andrews, research and development manager at Textjam, says that a truck driver might use the service to warn a driver in front that his rear lights are not working, or if it is necessary to contact a driver who has left his vehicle.
Andrews adds: "We have been as thorough as we can in terms of complying with policy issues and we do have a 'block' feature which allows users to prevent certain other drivers contacting them. Safety is also of paramount importance to us and in no way do we encourage users to send or read messages when they are driving."
