• The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has confirmed that it will hold a separate commercial vehicle show in May 1993 — the same week as the IRTE event.
The move, endorsed by the Society's council last week, means that CVs of more than 3.5 tonnes will be barred from the next Birmingham show in October 1992. This follows poor attendances for the CV section from exhibitors and visitors at last year's NEC show.
The SMMT has not held a separate commercial vehicle exhibition since 1976.
