• Renault's revamped R range tractive unit is to be renamed the Major. This is the first in a series of rebadges which will see the AE officially becoming the Magnum and the G and B ranges also getting new names for the entire .European market.
Recent changes to the R range include a new instrument panel and a restyled cab (CM 24-30 January).
It is also now available with the Highliner air deflector package. The Major comes in 283kW (380hp) and 254kW (340hp) options.
It falls between the lighter G range tractor and the premium AE which was launched at the Motor Show.
It is believed that the first AE rigids in the UK have gone into service as drawbar units.
