The unit, Macrospeak, has been developed to fit into companies' existing computer systems. It has a memory capable of handling up to 640 different words. Users simply program the unit to recognise a particular word by speaking into it. .

Macrospeak could be used for inputting data in warehouses, or providing a password type security system. It could also be developed for fitting into delivery vehicles, but at around 25,000 the price is likely to be a little too high for such applications.
