Davies Turner has made Stephen Shepley the manager of its Stoke-on-Trent branch, after five years at the company's Manchester depot. He has worked for four years as Scandinavian export manager, and his first year with the company was spent on Middle East exports.
Former Seatrain UK managing director George Gill is UK director and country manager of CAST Europe (UK) Ltd, as part of the company's Blue Box container service. Ken Nagger, who joined CAST in 1973, is now UK sales director.
National Welsh planning manager Bill Cooper is retiring early, at the end of this month. Mr Cooper, who also was chairman of the Association of Managerial Staffs of the National Bus Company, started his career in the bus industry at Aberdeen Corporation in 1934.
Dennis Crowfoot is the new chairman of the East Midland area of the Road Haulage Association. Mr Crowfoot, whose Crowfoot's Carriers Ltd is based at Barwell, Leicestershire, succeeds Jack Gem. New vicechairmen are Paul Newton (Nottingham), Philip Powis (Wellingborough), and Eric Partridge (Belper).
