Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

of the prohibitions were Bosworth Plant Hire (Anglia) Ltd appealed against the decision of the Licensing Authority for the Eastern Traffic Area. For the company it was said that two directors, no longer with the firm, were responsible for the "appalling" maintenance record.

Most imposed between July and August, 1980, although £80,000 worth of maintenance was supposedly carried out on the vehicles. It appeared that the money was being appropriated, claimed Caroline Alton, defending.

The company chairman said his directors were never short of money for maintenance and believed that matters were running smoothly. There were some "funny goings on" and one of the directors in particular was behaving in "curious ways," said Miss Alton.

A revocation would not be in order in this particular case, it was said the LA has already imposed other less severe penalties against the company.

The firm would be starved of cash if it lost its licence for two months and could go out of business, it was claimed.

Despite Miss Alton's arguments, Tribunal president George Squibb dismissed the appeal and the two month suspension wilt be enforced from April 6.
