PALLET NETWORK Palletforce has released a live-tracking iPhone app, Palletforce Pallet Tracking. The free app makes it possible to see exactly where a consignment is at any stage of its journey.
Dean Hughes, Palletforce’s IT director, says: “It offers another quick and easy way for customers to track their deliveries from anywhere in the world.” The app uses information from Palletforce’s Alliance IT system to pinpoint where each consignment is. Customers only need their delivery details to access the service. • Palletforce is to brand the sidewalls of tyres on its fleet with its logo, after signing a deal with motorsport tyre manufacturer DMACK. Members at the network will be supplied with branded tyres to run on their fleets.
Palletforce sales and marketing director Dave Holl believes the deal is a first in the sector: “This gives us the opportunity to use the power of group purchasing to help save money for our members and shows that, once again, we are leading from the front.”
