A former shop steward and iver for transport giant TNT s been jailed for three-andhalf years for organising the eft of vehicles loaded with re than £80,000 worth of nd Rover components.
Paul Hurren of kooks Green, • mingham. who worked at the T depot at Bickenhill, Warks, aded not guilty to conspiracy steal. But the jury at Warwick own Court took just 15 mines to return a guilty verdict. The court heard that the TNT pot was used to store millions pounds' worth of Land Rover rts which Hurren had access in his position as shop eward.
It was alleged that more than £80,000 worth of components were stolen over a matter of months with Herren organising the thefts in collusion with two other TNT employ ees—co-ordinator Stuart Bird and driver Mohammed Arif.
Bird and Arif both admitted conspiracy to steal; they will be sentenced at a later date.
