• A call by residents to ban coaches from using a popular scenic route over the mountains between Llanidloes and Machynlleth has been rejected by Powys County Council.
Residents fear major loss of life if a coach plunges over the narrow road.
The council is to erect more warning signs but improvement work on the road has been delayed until funds are available.
