• A company which sells advertising space on spray suppression flaps is offering to pay hauliers to have flaps fitted to their trucks.
In exchange, hauliers are expected to keep their vehicles and spray equipment clean and allow Redditch-based Spray Ad to use the deflectors for advertising purposes.
Spray Ad director Frances Holt says spray flaps have been fitted to the company's own vehicles for the past six months and have provided safety benefits by reducing spray and preventing debris from being thrown up by the truck wheels.
Holt says there is also a tangible reduction in the amount of cleaning needed on the back of the vehicle.
The 2.5x0.6m flaps are made to British Standard BS: AU200/2a.
