• Although Goole-based A and W International's operator's licence has been renewed by North Eastern Deputy Licensing Authority Norman Moody, the associated South View Farm Ser vices' bid for a new 0-licenc has been adjourned for the production of more financial evidence.
A and W applied originally renew its international licenr for 11 vehicles and 22 trailei but managing director Withal Malcolmson amended it to s vehicles and 22 trailers durii the hearing.
Malcolmson and his broth Alan, trading as South View Farm Services of Gilberdyko also applied for a new natior licence for four vehicles and three trailers.
Malcolmson said he was t nominated transport manage of A and W.
William Bowyer, supervisi traffic examiner of the Nort1 Eastern Traffic Area, said a traffic examiner had reported that Malcolrnson had refuse( to be interviewed in inquirie being made about A and W.
Consequently he went to see Malcolrnson about an' alleged overloading offence, but Malcolmson said that in circumstances would he be terviewed by the traffic examiner, Sheila Forbes, or allow her into his yard.
Malcolm said that another traffic examiner, a Mr Score] had been banned from his ya by a senior traffic examiner f five years.
He had no financial documents for South View Farm Services with him, but the firm was worth £105,000. Other property was owned and the working capital cons ted of £18,000-E20,000 at Lloyds Bank.
Moody said non co-operat with the traffic examiners is serious matter, but he was ; prepared to say that Malcoli son lacks good repute. He h shown in the past that he could maintain vehicles properly.
