Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

YOUR recent news item "Freightliner md attacks hauliers" (CM, June 7, p3) indicates some misunderstanding as to my recent remarks at the opening of our new terwinal in Seaforth. The purport of my comments remarking that the day of the underpaid haulier is over related to the advantage the haulier had once enjoyed but was now being overtaken in real cost terms.

The opening of our Seaforth terminal illustrates the new opportunities now available to Freightliner. My comment was not an attack on road hauliers — we, as you know, have a large fleet of our own vehicles that we use in support of rail movements of containers over the larger distances.
