THE Western Traffic Area Maintenance Committee of the Road Haulage Association has produced a booklet entitled Effective Brake Maintenance because of its concern over the large number of commercial vehicles failing DTp annual tests with defects relating to brakes.
A working party set up by the Committee has found many worrying elements in everyday .brake repair and maintenance and the booklet is intended to improve this situation by giving some simple guide lines.
It will be given free of charge by test stations in the Western Traffic Area to operators of vehicles that fail the test because of a brake defect.
