BETWEEN June and August of last year, six per cent of the mileage of goods vehicles, other than light vans, was run on Saturdays, and three per cent on Sundays, reported Mr Fred Mullay, the Transport Minister, in the Commons last week.
Goods vehicles accounted for three per cent of the total volume of motor traffic on Saturdays and two per cent on Sundays.
