THE Greater London Council has selected a 13 square mile zone of Greenwich and Lewisham for an examination of freight operations. The study will be made in co-operation with both hauliers and own-account operators and the object is to see what changes can be made to improve operating conditions. The cost of the operation is £52,000 which is being shared between the GLC and the Transport and Road Research Laboratory. The first results of the study are expected in August and it will continue until 1975.
