Our man from behind the Curtain tells me that there was a most inappropriate little hitch at the opening of the IRU Congress in Budapest this year. Professor Dr. Csanadi, Hungarian Minister of Transport and Communications, rose to speak—and communications broke down. No doubt his speech was an excellent one, but the simultaneous-translation system was just being "run in" and so not giving of its best, while no written text was available!
