Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE first batch of 12 Guy Arab Mark V double-deckers, part of an order for 50, was handed over to Wolverhampton Corporation last week. The lower frame level, which is the main feature distinguishing the model from the Arab Mark IV, has permitted the use of an entrance with only one comparatively shallow intermediate step, despite an orthodox transmission layout. The lowerfloor level downstairs has permitted the provision of 6-ft. 1.5-in, headroom in the

lower saloon: the upper-deck floor level remains unaltered.

The chassis have Gardner 6LW engines and direct-acting epicyclic gearboxes, an interesting feature of the specification being the use of 9.00-20 (14-ply) front tyres instead of the 11.00-20 size normally used on a 30-ft.-long double-decker. The Weymann bodywork reverts to half-cab construction; Wolverhampton Corporation has, in recent years, favoured fully fronted double-deckers.
