Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN unusual bulk-load vehicle is being operated in the north-west by Helsby and Longden, Ltd., Frodsham. ft has two separate compartments in the enclosed tipping body, which can be used for carrying loose loads or poultry .food in sacks. • Meal in sacks can be tipped into a hopper at the rear of the body and discharged pneumatically into a tank on the farm premises.

The vehicle is based on a B.M.C. 7-ton long-wheelbase chassis and the body was built by Bowyer Bros. (Congleton), Ltd., West Heath, Corigleton. It was designed jointly by R. Silcoek and Sons, Ltd., Edmund Street, Liverpool, 3, and the operators.

Where the poultry food is conveyed loose, only two brands can be handled at a time, but where bags are concerned an unlimited number of brands can be carried and the system is flexible.

R. Sileoek and Sons, Ltd., say that in most cases bulk delivery can probably save only a few shillings per ton in "` delivered farm" cost. Large economies can, however, often be effected on the farm and it is there that the 'benefits of bulk _delivery must be sought. Bins must be carefully sited and Silcock's advisory department is available to assist in this matter.
