A CALL for the immediate re

nationalization of road transport by the next Labour Government will be made at next month's biennial conference of the Transport and General Workers' Union.

Among the motions to be discussed is one urging the Union to press for a complete take-over of road transport, with the exception of door-to-door

delivery services. The Union will be asked to impress on the Labour Party that this should be part of the policy of any future Labour Government.

Another motion asks the Union "to bring presssure to bear" to ensure that the next Labour Government will carry through nationalization of the passenger transport industry. This, says the motion, should be one of Labour's major tasks.

The conference will also discuss motions dealing with the nationalization of the motor and tool industries.

It is expected that the Labour Party's policy statement, to be published in a fortnight, will include the complete renationalization of road transport.
