Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Intertube's automatic truck chassis lubrication system, which is claimed to minimise downtime and to prolong component life, is now available for trailer chassis.

The new XL system can be used with either fluid grease or oil. It draws its power from the brake light circuit and converts foot pedal movement into electronic impulses. A built-in controller counts the impulses generated and operates the pump once every two minutes of accumulated braking time.

It has a memory and continues counting during pump delay in readiness for the next cycle. A 10-position switch on the pump controls lubrication frequency which can be changed by the operator to suit operating conditions. Pumping operation is verified by a red lamp in the top of the unit, pulsing twice a second during delivery and once during delay.

The XL system, which has been tested to BS2011 (+40°C to —40°C), has a patented heating device that ensures even flow at low temperatures.

It features calibrated, colourcoded pumping units and has a four-litre reservoir which is designed to carry enough lubricant for a year's operation.

A typical 18-point XL system costs £.395 and takes around six hours to fit. Interlube says it should pay for itself in 12-15 months.
