Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Murex Welding Products, prominent in the development of both MIG welding equipment and flux cored wire, has combined the two to provide a package called the Tradesmig 160 GL, allowing semiautomatic welding where previously impossible. The MIG/MAG process is used for welding both thick and thin sections, but the requirement for a gas shield sometimes limits its use. Working in a draughty location, makes it difficult to maintain the gas shield. Also, the need to move large and heavy gas cylinders can restrict its use and causes welders to revert to stick welding for convenience.

As smaller diameter flux cored wires have become available, many new areas of application have been opened up. By bringing together the Tradesmig 160 set and the new Murair A3 general purpose, self-shielded flux-cored wire, Murex says it is able to offer a practical and economic alternative to stick welding as the go-anywhere process.
