ACrane Fruehauf Co. demonstrated a hover container at the 1964 Commercial Vehicle Show at Earls Court, but the system has not as yet been applied commercially.

At this demonstration. a 1,200 Cu. ft. container was moved from a platform trailer to another vehicle—having the same platform height—by means of an air cushion supplied by two electrically-driven blowers with a combined power rating of 2 h.p. It was claimed that the units would lift a fully-laden container with a payload of 40,000 lb.
