Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DESIGNED in conjunction with the Swiss Aluminium Co., of Zurich, a new range of all-aluminium van bodies has been announced by Silverdale Motor Bodies Ltd., of York Road, Hall Green, Birmingham, which includes the Luton type and bodies insulated with expanded polystyrene or foamed polyurethane. In the case of a 16 ft fully-insulated meat carrying van operated by Swift and Co. Ltd., the weight of the body is 18 cwt. and features include insulation

with 4 in of expanded polystyrene, a threerail hanging gear and welded one-piece floor. The body is mounted on a Bedford 6-ton chassis.

A panel retaining strip is combined with a sliding capping section which provides a flush exterior and enables damaged exterior panels to be removed easily after the capping sections have been withdrawn and the retaining huckbolts loosened.

The double-flanged hollow-section pillars are designed to support heavy hanging loads with weight concentrations of up to 1 ton per ft of body length (claimed to be about double the normal load than can be carried) and, in the case of insulated bodies, will accommodate laminated glass-fibre spacers. Eliminating metal connections between the two skins reduces heat intake to a minimum and thus increases the effective insulation properties of the polystyrene or polyurethane, the thickness of which may be 5 in or 6 in as well as 4 in.

One-piece extruded corner pillars incorporate recessed sections for adjacent panel retaining strips, while one-piece cantrail sections have the same type of recesses, all the joints being completely waterproofed.

Bodies will be produced in all sizes including structure for 33 ft trailers.
