IN connection with the South London Itram-conversion programme, London Transport has introduced a new organization to cover all road services in the central area.
The organization comprises four divisions—north-west, north-east, southwest and south-east—with divisional offices at Dollis Hill, Manor House, Vauxhall and Camberwell respectively. Four engineering divisions correspond to these operating 'divisions, which will be subdivided into 28 districts.
The central bus and tram and trolleybus operating sections have been amalgamated to form this new organization, under the operating manager (central road services). Mr. J. B. Burnell. His deputy is Mr. P. G. Gibbins. previously
general superintendent (trams and trolleybuses), who is now known as general superiotendent (centrar road services), To avoid confusion, the names of two bus garages and eight tram and trolleybus depots have been changed.

DOUCE authorities in Cumberland are considering increasing the number of patrol cars. The county police committee is to draw the attention of clerks of justices to the dangers of speeding by heavy motor vehicles. which is said to be especially noticeable in the south-west of the county.
NEW SIMMS LAMPS
THREE new head lamps have been I produced by Simms Motor Units, Ltd., London, N.2. One, the mode] 1.93, is a flush-mounting fog lamp, and the other two, the L91 and the L92, are normal lamps with fluted lenses. The L9I is made for Rush-mounting and the L92 is arranged for bolt fixing.
