JAMES FREEMAN, previously field operations manager for National Holidays at Brighton, has been made manager of Shamrock and Rambler, and John Norton, previously of Beeline Continental Coaches becomes manager for Pilgrim Coaches (see p14), following another National Bus Company reorganisation.

Mr Freeman began his bus career as a conductor with the former Hants and Dorset company in Winchester in 1974. He later worked as a traffic clerk with Bristol Omnibus before leaving NBC to obtain a history degree from Southampton University.

In 1978 he rejoined the group as a senior management trainee attached to South Wales Transport where he progressed to the position of coaching officer. He moved to National Holidays in May 1982.

Mr Norton joined the industry with East Midland Motor Services, at Chesterfield, in 1966, and subsequently spent nine years with National Travel (East), latterly as chief co-ordinator. He left the group to become operations manager for Beeline Continental in May 1981.
