GLASS fibre-reinforced plastics roofs for commercial vehicles are offered in a new range by E. B. Plastics Ltd., Biddulph Moor, Stoke-on-Trent. .The makers—an ERF group company—claim that the roofs are made to very fine limits and use resins giving a high degree of translucency and light transmission.
Bodybuilders can specify exactly the size of roof they require, in an infinite variety of sizes within the range from 10 ft. to 35 ft. long and from 6 ft. 6 in. to 8 ft. 24 in. wide.
Two types are available: one has an 8 in. radius to the sides, the other 0.5 in. radius. The former is intended to minimize the slabsided appearance of large pantechnicons, while the small radius is designed to allow capacity loading up to the roof sticks.
The roofs can be supplied with or without roof slicks; when incorporated, these are of top-hat-section glass fibre bonded integrally into the roof. Open or domed ends are available and a variety of corner shapes can be specified.
Marketed under the name of Centaur, the. newroofs are distributed solely by Albert Jagger Ltd., Green Lane, Walsall, Staffs.
