Birmingham Buys Big.

An order, valued at about £100,000. has been received by Leyland Motors, Ltd., from Birmingham Corporation for 85 oil-engined bus chassis and spare units. It is particularly interesting, because the chassis will have hydraulic transmission.

Morse Chain Depot in West Country.

The Morse Chain Co., Ltd., Letchworth, is shortly opening a new depot which will carry stocks of Morse chains for a wide range of commercial-vehicle engines, at the premises of its West of England representative, Philpott and Cowlin, Ltd., 76, Victoria Street, Bristol. It will enable the trade in the West of England and South Wales to be given rapid service.

Karrier CK5 Not in 30 m.p.h. Class.

We are asked by Karrier Motors, Ltd., Luton, to state that the new model CK5 5-tonner, described in our issue dated January 21, was not designed to operate in the 30 m.p.h. class. Sturdiness characterizes the chassis, which weighs 43 cwt., and, as a complete vehicle with well-built cab and substantial 17-ft. 3-in, platform body, the model scales over 50 cwt.
