THE UK MD of Palletways has given his backing to Essex-based Specialised Pallet Transport, which bought the assets of failed haulier Steve Prince Transport late last year.
Specialised Pallet Transport rescued Steve Prince Transport on 27 November 2012 after the latter failed to meet the terms of the company voluntary arrangement it had been operating under since March of that year.
"They are now fully migrated into the network," said Palletways UK MD Martyn Young. "The service levels are good and they are covering the Southend postcode area for us." Headed by exSteve Prince Transport commercial manager Ron Prince, Specialised Pallet has an 0-licence for up to 23 vehicles and 28 trailers at its Braintree operating centre. Steve Prince worked for Palletways and the Fortec networks, but Fortec told CMthat its relationship with the haulier ended a year ago.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that TAG Transport Services, the former Palletways member that went into administration last month, accumulated debts of almost £700,000, including £145,000 owed to HMRC. The Croydon-based firm was bought out of administration by newly incorporated Diamond Distribution for £72,000.
