THE AVERAGE price of a litre of bulk fuel is just 0.75p off the alltime record set in March 2012, according to a survey of Road Haulage Association (RHA) members. Nick Deal, RHA manager of logistics development, said the falling exchange rate between the pound and the US dollar, which hit a 31-month low last week, is pushing up the price. The survey found the average price of a litre of bulk diesel was 116.92p, compared with the record high on 23 March 2012 of 11766pp1. During the fuel protests in 2000, bulk diesel hit 70ppl.
