THIS WEEK'S top used truck is a Euro-5 2011-registered 6x2 MAN TGX with EGR.
Its D20 engine produces 440hp and 2,100Nm, which are the highest ratings for the 10.5-litre driveline.
It comes with the 12-speed ZF Tipmatic automated transmission and the XLX sleeper cab, which is the mid-sized option.
Its seller, Dawsonrentals' used truck division NTTS (National Truck and Trailer Sales), isn't giving away too much detail — but its age and spec alone is enough to make it this week's star buy. This is essentially a big truck with a small and efficient engine — a favourite specification among rental firms.
MAN has a burgeoning reputation in the used truck market for generating short-term lease, rental and buy-back deals for new products and putting quality, late-year trucks back in the market place.
It allowed MAN some influence on the flow of vehicles going back into the used sector, and to cash in on rising demand ahead of the Euro-6 deadline at the end of the year. NTTS appears to have taken the same approach.
