• Since it pays to publicise, let's talk about ourselves for a bit. Our own quality circle, Workshop's turbo reader reply service, is proving very popular. While large sums of money are spent on tools and equipment, the :correct choice must be worth many Limes those amounts, and although pur products pages hold a lot of information, more is frequently available from manufacturers or whoever s offering the service we are writing about.

• Our remanufacturing features is another service attracting comment and this topic, involving arguments ivhether to buy original parts or parts iom other specialists, won't go away.

• It pays to publicise. Not very cleverly, we managed to lose the iece of paper with the address of )ne of our product firms, an IBM sealer, on it, and on phoning that arge firm's "inquiry point" were told :hat the address could not be traced inless we knew what county the iddress was in; all we knew was that t wasn't in the London phone direc.ory. What, we said, on computers :ouldn't they just press a key and lave lists of addresses reprocessed n alphabetical rather than geographcal order? Only if you knew how to verate a computer, which the per;on answering the phone didn't. Oh, Ne must have that address, would .hey phone back with it the next day? iext day they phoned back: it :ouldn't be done. After a pause for ,hought, we phoned another of the rade journals, Compact Computer, awned by Reed Business Publishing, ind were supplied with the address within minutes.

• It pays to publicise. Rover Group :hairman Graham Day found that the viini was not being advertised. He :hanged that and sales rose 20%, re)orted BBC tvl's Nine O'clock News; md he wanted to sell Leyland Trucks o Daf or Paccar. We switched to :eefax to learn more. Only the news 'bout the Mini was given, and nothing ibout the consequences of selling .-eyland Trucks. Garages will live with the consequences, but we'll lave some more Leyland Workshop ways features for you yet.
