HGV SAFETY Higher technical standards and measures to reduce driver fatigue would help improve the safety record of heavy goods vehicles on Danish roads — one fatal accident in five now involves a truck — according to a Danish road safety conference. It was the unanimous opinion of all parties that a corn bination of factors — driver fatigue, vehicle overloading and long journeys — were behind these alarming statistics.
