Ten of the 23-seater minibuses will run a frequent service in the Solihull area of Birmingham, where it is hoped they will persuade people to leave their cars at home.
The U50,000 fleet order brings the number of minibuses West Midlands Travel operates in the Solihull area to 24. Geoffrey Lusher, group general manager, says: "We have been very pleasantly surprised at the customers we have got in Solihull. The minibuses seem to be far more successful in affluent areas than they are in traditional bus areas."
