IS Sealink is to relaunch its Channel crossing service from Portsmouth to Cherbourg to run from April 15 to September 28.

This service will be in addition to the summer months' crossing Sealink operates from Weymouth to Cherbourg.

The ferries Earl Granville (Portsmouth to Cherbourg) and the Earl Harold (Weymouth to Cherbourg) will both operate a seven-days-a-week service with two round-trips per day during July and August. The Earl Granville will have 1,500 freight spaces and the Earl Harold 2,000. Freight manager Chris Lush promises: "Any freight booked in through our system will definitely be allocated a space."
