THE TABLES were due to b! turned for Sir Arthur Armitagt this week, when the inquin team was called to give evi dence to the House of Common! transport committee.
The committee sought an op portunity to question Sir Arthu and fellow assessors Sir Henr • Chilver, Patrick Lawther, and Au drey Lees on the content of th report and on points raised b MPs in the House of Common debate on January 27.
It says it wants to be able t reach a decision on any prop( sals which Transport Secretar Norman Fowler may put forwar at a later date.
