CUMMINS and the People's Re public of China have entere( into a long-term licence agree ment for the manufacture o Cummins NHand K-Series en gines.
The agreement, which i. subject to the approval of fill . United States and Chinese gov ernments, was signed in Pekini by Cummins officials and more sentatives from the Chin National Technical Import Cor poration on January 25.
The first phase of the mane facturing project will be the aE sembly of components pro duced at existing Cummin plants and sold to China.
The second phase will enta the manufacture and assembl of Cummins engines and con ponents in China.
An existing diesel engine plar in Chung Qing, in south-centn China, will produce the Curr mins power units under the re! ponsibility of the First Ministr of Machine Building.
