Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

'aul Brockington A hydraulically operated lifting cradle hydraulically driven loading rollers are tres of a demountable body system in as the Multiloader that was recently onstrated by Multilift Ltd., c /o Salop ler Co. Ltd., Monkmoor Road, Shrews he Multilift company is a wholly-owned idiary of Autolava OY, Raisio, Finland, will market the Multiloader in the UK idition to the Multilift Autolava winchtype of demountable body system.

e the hydraulic gear will be imported Finland, the framework and bodies be produced by the Salop Trailer Co. dultilift as in the case of the winch-on fter the prime mover has been backed 3 the body (which rests on folding legs) ;radle is used to lift the front end onto ers on the vehicles and the rollers are to propel the prime mover rearwards

✓ the body. When the point of balance ached at which the front of the body downwards on to the prime mover ✓ its own weight, the rollers propel the r forwards until it is in the travelling ion. The system is driver-operated from the cab and Multilift claims that it provides greater latitude in initial vehicle positioning and easier loading than competitive systems applied to free-standing bodies and containers. It is currently employed extensively in Scandinavian countries.

The prime mover system weighs approximately 9cwt while the weight of the body platform is about 15cwt, the load capacity of the hydraulic gear being around 20 tons. Cost of the equipment is £850 /£900 according to the length of the vehicle deck.

The demonstration vehicle is a ScaniaVabis L.110 rigid six-wheeler and an easy access van-type of 20ft body. This has two sliding doors on each side as well as hinge-up-and-down doors at the rear. The doors on both sides are located at the front and rear of a solid central partition and can be lifted outwards at the bottom with a special handle to enable them to be moved to the central position. Having a steel frame, the body is panelled in timber and glassreinforced plastics. It is equipped with vents at the front and in the floor.

The body locks at the front of the prime mover can be multiplied to provide for positioning bodies of different lengths to give balanced weight distribution. While the front legs fold rearwards and pegs on the shafts are used to lock the body to the brackets, the rear legs fold across the rear of the body. A single lever operates the two rear locks. Details of the hydraulic gear include twin cradle lifting rams and an axial-type piston hydrostatic motor which drives the serrated rollers. The pto-driven hydraulic pump is of the gear type.
