THE following resolution was unani

mously passed by the National Council of the P.V.O.A. at a recent meeting: "The Passenger Vehicle Operators Association, being determined to take all necessary steps to ensure that its members give all the public the best possible road passenger services, is ready to examine, with the Government, the preparation of plans to that end, but is convinced that the end in view will not be achieved, either by nationalization or by the creation of Regional Boards as visualized in the statement made by the Lord President in the House of Commons on November 19, 1945. The Association is firmly opposed to such measures and is resolved to employ all constitutional means to convince the Government, Parliament and the country that either nationalization or the creation of Regional Boards would be inimical to the interests of the travelling public." WAKEFIELD CHAMBER PASSES RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION adopted by Wake1-1 field Chamber of Trade, registering its emphatic protest against the Government's intention to nationalize the country's inland transport, expressed the belief that "a nationally operated system of transport will not be sufficiently flexible to effect satisfactorily the delivery of goods to the shops for distribution to the public." It was moved by Mr. G. E. Gilbey.
